For Parents
Parent Coaching for the Teen Years
If communication feels harder, home feels more tense, or you’re not sure how to best support your teen in this season, you are not alone.
You’re not imagining it
This season can feel hard in ways people do not always talk about
The teen years can bring so many changes at once. What used to feel easy may now feel tense. Conversations may feel shorter. Emotions may feel bigger. You may find yourself questioning what to say, how to respond, or how to stay connected to your teen while also trying to guide them well.
If you have been feeling stretched, frustrated, disconnected, or simply unsure of what this season needs from you, you are not alone. So many parents carry the weight of wanting to get it right while feeling like the rules have changed. Parent coaching creates space for support in those moments.
Parent Coaching
What 20 years of working with teenagers taught me about helping parents
Most of what I know about supporting parents came directly from teenagers. Over two decades of clinical work, I heard firsthand what teens wish their parents understood, where communication breaks down, and what they actually need from the adults in their lives.
That insight is the foundation of every coaching relationship I have with parents. It is not theory. It is experience.
Parent coaching is a space for practical guidance, honest conversation, and real tools you can use when communication feels strained, boundaries feel harder to hold, or home feels more tense than you want it to be.
What Parents Often Say
Does any of this sound like you?
Sometimes you know something feels off, heavy, or harder than it used to be. You just do not always know how to put it into words. Here are a few things parents often say when they are feeling stretched, unsure, or disconnected during the teen years.
“I want to support my teen, but I don’t always know how.”
“Home feels heavier than it used to.”
“I feel like I can’t reach my teen the way I used to.”
“I feel like I’m constantly walking on eggshells.”
“I miss feeling connected to my child.”
“I’m not always sure what’s normal and what I should be concerned about.”

These two services are often confused and it is worth knowing the difference.
Parent coaching is practical and goal focused. It gives you tools, strategies, and guidance for navigating the real life challenges of raising a teen. It is about your growth as a parent and building skills you can use right now.
Therapy is a clinical service focused on emotional healing and mental health treatment. It goes deeper into patterns, past experiences, and challenges that are impacting your overall wellbeing.
If you are unsure which one is right for you, the discovery call is a good place to start that conversation.

No. Parent coaching is not billed through insurance because it is a coaching service rather than a clinical therapy service.
